WHO WE ARE
Anthony Huey is a highly-rated international speaker and communications consultant who offers session attendees pragmatic communications tools, tips and techniques they can use immediately. His career includes tenures as a news reporter, magazine senior editor, crisis management specialist, media relations consultant and executive speech coach.
Anthony owns Reputation Management, LLC , one of the nation’s leading communications training and crisis consulting companies. He has presented nearly 2,000 keynote speeches, workshops and seminars on a number of timely communications topics that executives can incorporate into both their professional and personal lives.
His direct client work includes a wide variety of advertising, public relations and communications initiatives for hundreds of trade associations, municipalities and companies, including Nike, Victoria’s Secret, Eli Lilly, Nationwide Insurance, The Kroger Company, and Procter & Gamble.
Jim Vitak is a broadly experienced professional communicator with two decades in radio news followed by 20 years of varied communications roles in the chemical, oil and natural gas industries. His corporate responsibilities included being spokesman for a Fortune 500 company and leadership roles in marketing, public relations, community relations and environmental and crisis communications.
Jim has worked extensively with wire services, national and international business and financial media, trade media and local news organizations. Additionally, he has served as communications and PR lead in hundreds of emergency response and crisis situations such as spills, fires and explosions; product issues and recalls; risk and security concerns; community issues; and environmental remediation cases in states including California, New York, Florida, Ohio, Georgia and others. Jim has given hundreds of interviews, personally interviewed thousands of newsmakers and coached spokespersons for hundreds of interviews.
Shannon joined Reputation Management Associates in 2006 where she has traveled throughout the country to help clients learn to use the news media to their advantage, as well as plan for and achieve their marketing goals.
Her current focus is to manage and strengthen relationships and all services for RMA’s retainer accounts, while initiating programs for value-added services to complement RMA’s wide array of training sessions and seminars.
Shannon holds a Bachelor of Science in Marketing from the University of Dayton. Additionally, Shannon is an active member of AAF Columbus (American Advertising Federation), and is a former AAF Columbus Board Member, serving as co-chair of the ADDY committee.
After spending 9 years in broadcast news, mostly as a producer, he has honed the craft of taking control of an audience, conveying your message and directing an audience where you want them to go. He then spent the next 12 years in leading sales operations in various marketing organizations, even leading the Columbus Chapter of American Marketing Association as President, putting his experience to work for others looking to develop their skills within marketing.
He is politely persistent, respectful to the wishes of those he contacts and passionate about seeing them succeed.
He has a Bachelor of Journalism degree from the University of Missouri-Columbus in Broadcast News and a minor in Psychology.
Bill Patterson is a nationally known expert on the news media. He has presented over 1,000 workshops, seminars and speeches on how to better use and understand the news media. His entire 38-year professional career has been involved with the media.
Patterson began his career as a newscaster in l962 and was quickly named News Director of WTVN Radio, Columbus. He remained the city’s top-rated news executive until he left broadcasting in 1984 to become Vice President of Reputation Management at HMS Partners, the largest communications agency in Ohio. In l998, Patterson formed Reputation Management Associates to concentrate on media training and speech coaching.
Patterson holds a Bachelor’s degree in broadcast journalism from Ohio University and a Master’s degree in journalism from Ohio State University. He has taught journalism at Ohio State University and Otterbein College, and currently serves as a guest lecturer at Ohio University. He has received over 30 journalism and public relations awards during his career as a professional communicator. He has had dozens of articles published in various national publications and is the author of the booklet, How to Use the News Media to Your Advantage.
